On May 6, the Center of Military Chaplaincy of Lviv Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (LA UGCC) officially presented the new web-resource www.kapelanstvo.com.ua.  Consequently, with the beginning of the functioning of the new Internet site, the old page (www.kapelanstvo.org.ua) has stopped operating. The new site will make the ministry of priest-chaplains more practical. Due to the new technical possibilities of the resource, the informational content will become more accessible and more effective for the military and other users. As the leader of the Center of Military Chaplaincy, Fr. Stepan Sus, noted, the new web-resource will improve considerably the ministry of priest-chaplains to the military. The specifics of the chaplaincy ministry show that a chaplain sometimes has no possibility to meet with cadets and soldiers; this is why a new site will be another possibility for preaching God’s word in the environment of the military. In addition, users will be in a position to get to know more about the activity of chaplains thanks to videos which will be placed on the site. The site also has a section devoted to the history of priests in the Ukrainian armed forces of the last centuries. The web-resource of military chaplains will become another possibility to preach the word of God on the world’s Internet network.

Information The chaplains of the Center of Military Chaplaincy of the UGCC have carried out pastoral ministry in the Lviv Institute of Ground Forces and the military bases of Lviv for 12 years. The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel operates near the institute and regularly offers Divine Liturgies. The representatives of the Center of Military Chaplaincy conduct regular meetings with the cadets of the institute and soldiers of the bases of the Western Operative Command on moral and ethical themes. They also organize pilgrimages to indulgenced holy sites of Halychyna and excursions to churches of Lviv. In 2007 at the Institute of Ground Forces a religious studies group began to operate. The participants have the opportunity to become more familiar with the Christian traditions of our people and army. The military church has a religious library for soldiers.
