At the beginning of the press-conference, Bishop Sofron briefly outlined the history of Ancient Halych. Then, Fr. Oleg Kaskiv informed others of how the pilgrimage will flow. "It is the first time, that this pilgrimage to the Krylos village will be All Ukrainian. On the 28th of July, at the feast of Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Volodymyr, the pilgrimage will start with the Divine Liturgy in the Ivano-Frankivsk Cathedral, and will be led by the Metropolitan Volodymyr (Viytyshyn). The priest will bless those pilgrims, after the Liturgy, who will be walking from Ivano-Frankivsk to Krylos village”, informed Fr. Oleg. According to him, by the time that the pilgrims approach the miraculous place there will be held the Stations of the Cross, Evening Liturgy, as well as, the prayer for healing. The Protosyncellus of Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC archdiocese carried on by telling – “of interest will be the artistic program that will start at midnight. Next day will become the culminating point of the pilgrimage, as the Divine Liturgy will be led by the UGCC Patriarch.” According to the estimations of the organizers of this pilgrimage, approximately 1.5 thousand children, aged 6 to 7 years old (who received the Eucharist for the first time this year), as well as, young couples (who will be blessed by the head of UGCC) will come to Krylos. To conclude, Fr. Mukhailo Harvat gave the word about the conduction of the Year of the Holy Sacrament in UGCC, emphasizing, herewith, that they are the source and the summit of Christian life. “Having God in one’s heart means receiving the Eucharist as often as possible. Of the foremost importance during this pilgrimage, there will be the Divine Liturgy, during which it will be possible for all of us to receive the Holy Communion, getting prepared to it, first, in Confessions”, - he noted. According to Fr. Mykhailo, the focus of this pilgrimage was made on those children, who went to Confession and to Communion for the first time; the main goal of this was to testify that they are not only our future, but most importantly, they are our present. “For, Jesus Christ clearly tells us, that an essential condition for entering the Heaven is to become child-like in spirit”, - told Fr. Mykhailo Harvat during the press-conference, the major issue of which was the conduction of All Ukrainian pilgrimage to Krylos. For more information on pilgrimage, visit proshcha.blogspot.com.
