An Association of Christian Parents of Ukraine, which will be responsible for the implementation of Christian values into the educational process, was established

On the 1st of December 2012, at the premises of the Commissions Department of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC, on the initiative of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of Primary Education, the meeting of the Association of Christian Parents of Ukraine was taking place. Among the participants of the event, there were parents of children, who are enrolled in the Educational Institutions of the UGCC and in the Institutions of the Christian Religion.

At the beginning of the meeting, parents were addressed with the opening remarks by Sister Khrystophora Bushtyn, SSMI, the Head of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of Primary Education, who informed the audience on the activities of the of the commission and on the international experience of the functioning of the European Association of Christian parents.

Following the presentation of the participants, the word was given to Mrs. Oksana Kocherhan, the co-initiator of the meeting, highlighted the fundamental responsibilities of the Association: to support educational projects, which implement the Christian values ​​and the Wisdom of the Holy Scriptures into the educational process; to represent the interests of the institutions with the Christian orientation to society and to the European counterparts; to create opportunities and conditions for the spiritual development of parents; to integrate the associations of Christian parents of Ukraine with the similar European organizations.

The participants of the organizational meeting discussed and approved the Declaration on the establishment of the Association of Christian Parents of Ukraine, and also considered the draft of the Statute of the Association.
