An exhibit of shrouds from the collection of the Archcathedral of the Holy Resurrection was opened

From April 16 to May 8, 2013, with the assistance of Ivan-Frankivsk Regional Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Nationalities, and Religions of Ivan-Frankivsk, and the Ivan-Frankivsk Ethnography Museum, an exhibit of shrouds from the collection of the local Archcathedral of the Holy Resurrection is taking place in the Ethnography Museum.

From April 16 to May 8, 2013, with the assistance of Ivan-Frankivsk Regional Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Nationalities, and Religions of Ivan-Frankivsk, and the Ivan-Frankivsk Ethnography Museum, an exhibit of shrouds from the collection of the local Archcathedral of the Holy Resurrection is taking place in the Ethnography Museum.

This was reported by Rev. Yuriy Trukhan, Press Secretary of UGCC Ivan-Frankivsk Metropolitanate.

Bishop Volodymyr (Viytyshyn), Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivan-Frankivsk and Bishop Mykola (Simkaylo), Kolomyia-Chernivets Eparch, blessed the opening of the exhibit. “This spiritual art represents our fathers’ faith that we have preserved, whose congregations we have increased, and which we hand over to the next generation,” noted Metropolitan Volodymyr.

The collection of the shrouds of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Ivan-Frankivsk numbers some hundred shrouds from the 19-20th century. The exhibit in the Ethnographic Museum displays 42, which recreate the nature and spiritual culture of our people.
