Bishop Ihor blessed the iconostasis of the Protection Veil Church and visited the domestic house “Protection Veil”

On the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2010, Archbishop of Lviv, Bishop Ihor (Voznyak) celebrated the festive Liturgy in the Protection Veil of the Mother of God Church, which is cared by the Salesian community of the “Mary Help of Christians” (Beginning of existence: 1936; canonically founded: 1994). The administrative hierarch arrived on the invitation of the administrator of the church Fr. Andriy Seneyko in order to share the joy of the holiday and to bless a new iconostasis. For the solemn Liturgy also gathered representatives of monastic communities of the UGCC, which on the holiday of Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ mark the Day of Consecrated Life. The archbishop wished the monastics to serve God devotedly and to the end, to use as an example the lives of Simeon the Righteous and Anna the Prophetess. The bishop noted that the task is also to constantly analyze one’s life, to make sure our piety and devotion is not locked in us. Being in the Salesian’s community, Bishop Ihor also visited the domestic house “Protection Veil of the Mother of God,” where orphan children and children from broken homes will live. For the creation of the domestic house “Protection Veil,” the religious administration of the monasteries of Salesian community transferred part of the building the Protection Veil of the Mother of God Church. The youngest inhabitants of this house presented the hierarch with a handmade candle and wished that its light reminded of Christ who is always present among us.
