Bishop Mykhail (Hrynchyshyn) C.SS.R. passed to his eternal rest

On November 12, at the age of 84, the Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainians in France, countries of Benelux, and Switzerland, Bishop Mykhail Hrynchyshyn died.

UGCC Department of Information   Note:  Biographical data Born on November 18, 1929 in Buchanan, Canada. On July 28, 1946 took monastic vows of the Order of Redemptorist Fathers in Yorkton. On May 25, 1952 was consecrated a bishop in Toronto (consecrator – Bishop  Maksym  Hermaniuk) Served as a pastor in New York, Winnipeg and Saskatoon. In 1955 defended his doctoral dissertation at the Papal Oriental Institute in Rome.  For some time lectured at seminaries in Canada. From 1970 he served as Postulator of the beatification process of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. From 1972 until 1981, served as Father Superior of the Redemptorist Fathers in Canada and USA. On November 27, 1982, named Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainians in France.
