Central heating will start working in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ this year

It is planned for the central heating system in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ to be started this heating season already. The UGCC Department of Information was notified of that by Mykhailo Vorobets, who is the Cathedral construction engineer. However, the main focus of the heating, according to his words, will be made on floor heating; type of system is recognized as the most suitable for the cathedral. The simple reason for the floor heating not to be available is that there is no conceptual picture of the floor. “The responsibility for the picture approval lies on the Arts Council. And all this is interconnected”, - says the engineer. The heating system in the cathedral of was designed in such a way that it will be possible to set the desired temperature in each area. As Mykhailo Vorobets states, when the heating system is started, it will become possible to work to work and decorate the cathedral from inside this winter. It is planned for the thermal energy for the residence near the cathedral (and partially for the very cathedral) to be gained from the solar collectors, which were presented by the German “Renovabis." "They should at least be enough to heat the water within the residence. Works within the residence are scheduled to be finished by September, "- engineer Mykhailo Vorobets shares his plans. It should also be mentioned that almost half (that is, hundred meters) of the external cap has already been coated with granite. If the weather allows, by the end of the season it will be fully coated completely. The process of constructing the fence around the cathedral has already been started. It will be made of stone and metal. Father Petro Fediuk, CSSR, who is the CEO of Construction Directorate based at the Head of the UGCC, said, that since the beginning of the year, almost four million hryvnias were spent on construction. Those are, actually, the funds which the Church collected for the construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral during Christmas holidays. "We expect that during the Synod of Canada, the necessity for the further financing of the construction of the Patriarchal Cathedral of UGCC will be analyzed”, Fr. Petro expresses the hope.
