On April 10, 2010, the Vatican informed that Pope Benedict XVI accepted the renunciation from the Government of Eparches of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of the Protection of the Mother of God in Argentina, given by the Bishop Miguel (Mykytcej), in accordance with the orders of canon 210 § 1 of Code of Canons of Eastern Churches.
On April 10, 2010, the Vatican informed that Pope Benedict XVI accepted the renunciation from the Government of Eparches of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of the Protection of the Mother of God in Argentina, given by the Bishop Miguel (Mykytcej), in accordance with the orders of canon 210 § 1 of Code of Canons of Eastern Churches. At the same time, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Svyatoslav (Shevchuk) title bishop of Galbae Castrensis, former auxiliary bishop of this eparchy, by the temporal Apostolic Administrator of “sede vacante” (vacant see) of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of the Protection of the Mother of God in Argentina.  Information from the Ukrainian section of Radio Vatican Born in 1934, Bishop Miguel ministered as the auxiliary bishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of the Protection of the Mother of God in Argentina from 1990, and from 1999 until now headed it as the administrative hierarch. Bishop Svyatoslav (Shevchuk) was appointed the auxiliary bishop of this eparchy on January 14, 2009. He received the hierarchal ordination on April 7 of the same year.
