In the context of 2012 as the Year of the Holy Sacraments, the Catechetical Commission of the Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric invites children and young people of the eparchies and exarchates of the UGCC in Ukraine to participate in the Christian trivia game Brain Ring on “The Holy Sacraments in the Life of the Church,” said Mykhailo Harvat, head of the Catechetical Commission of the Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric of the UGCC.
The game will take place in several stages, namely at the national level on November 10, 2012, at the eparchy level on October 27, at the deanery level on October 20, and in parishes. A similar event was already conducted by the Stryi Eparchy of the UGCC, so Fr. Andrii Binas, the head of the Catechetical Commission this diocese, expressed hope that at the national level the game will involve a large number of children and young people, helping them understand the importance of the sacraments in daily life. The questions for the game will be formed on the basis of the methodological reference book The Holy Sacraments in the Life of the Church, published by the Catechetical Commission of the Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric of the UGCC and the organizing committee for the Year of the Holy Sacraments. “The best place to prepare for the game is in the parish catechetical school. Local priests and catechists should take an interest and help us with this event,” said Fr. Harvat.
