Following Christmas Masses in UGCC churches in Zolochiv, festivities were held in honor of the Child Jesus. In the evening, believers from different parishes of the city came to the Basilian Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ to take part in the festival of carols. In the church’s yard, near the nativity scene, monk Toma Kushka, OSBM, abbot of the Ascension Monastery, greeted all the participants in a speech. The Syajvo children’s choir and other choirs from Zolochiv performed at the event. In addition to carolling and greetings, everyone had the opportunity to eat and share sweets around the Christmas table. The participants especially enjoyed the “pampuhy” (donuts). The festival of carols concluded with celebratory fireworks.
