Council of Higher Mother Superiors of women institutes of consecrated life chose new Administration

On December 20-21, 2009, at the Retreat Center of the Lviv Archeparchy in Bryukhovychi, a plenary meeting of higher mother superiors of women institutes of consecrated life of the UGCC took place in Ukraine.
On December 20-21, 2009, at the Retreat Center of the Lviv Archeparchy in Bryukhovychi, a plenary meeting of higher mother superiors of women institutes of consecrated life of the UGCC took place in Ukraine. The agenda of this year’s council included:
a report of the work of the council for the past three years;
election of the new Administration Council;
changes in the Regulation Council;
lecture of Sister Natalia (Mel’nyk), head of the commission on matters of monasticism, “Consecrated life in the 20th anniversary after the emergence of the Church from the underground.”
During work in groups the main mother superiors of different monastic communities analysed the important questions of consecrated life, which they tried to resolve together in the last three years. On December 21 the elections of the new Administration Council were held. The process was managed by Sister Natalia Mel'nyk. Sister Margret (Obereder) was again elected the head of the council, Sister Margaret (Hutnyk) was elected the deputy head, the members of the council became Sister Tetyana (Protsak) of the Community of Sisters of Mercy, Sister Vinkentia, Sister Solomia (Chigis) of the Community of Sisters of the Holy Family, and Sister Monica (Yarema) of the Community of Sisters of Josephus.   We ask in God’s blessing and the command of the Holy Spirit for the ministry of the newly chosen Administration Council be successful in the cooperation of different monastic communities and for the good of our Church.
