Council of the Eparchy of Ternopil' and Zboriv on the theme of evangelization

On February, 21, 2009, on the premises of the Academic-Theological Corpus of Patriarch Josyf Slipyj Major Seminary in Ternopil, a sobor [council] of the Ternopil' and Zboriv Eparchy on the theme of evangelization, under the motto «To live today according to the Gospel,» will begin. With the appropriate decree Bishop Vasiliy (Semenyuk), Eparch of Ternopil' and Zboriv, created the Commission to Prepare and Conduct the Sobor. Members of the Commission are: Fr. Andriy Romankiv – head of the Commission, Sub-Deacon Oleh Kharyshyn, – secretary, Fr. Svyatoslav Laskaviy head of the Commission on Questions of Evangelization, Fr. Yustynian Horodechnyj, abbot of the Ch.M.B. monastery, Sr. Yevheniya Luchyshyn, Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family, and Mrs. Anna Zvarych, coordinator of lay movements. The event will begin with a pontifical Liturgy. Then lectures on the themes «The essence of evangelization» by Fr. Svyatoslav Laskavyj, «The role of the clergy in evangelization» by Oleh Kharyshyn, and «The role of the laity in evangelization» by Mrs. Anna Zvarych will be given.
