The Ukrainian Youth Association of Ukraine (CYM in Ukraine) in commemorating the anniversary of the Holodomor initiates a campaign called Communion as a sign of spiritual unity with the Ukrainian generations who suffered during the great famine and terror. CYM has held such a campaign in Ukraine since 2003. We often remember the famine of 1932-1933, its proponents, but cannot comprehend the horror which the average Ukrainian had to face. To understand one has to survive it himself or at least try. This is one of the tasks of the campaign. The organizers invite all interested people to participate in the events and honor the innocent victims through prayer, fasting and good works. Fasting. Everyone who agrees to participate in this event voluntarily agrees to fast for 33 hours (from 7 a.m. on November 25 to 4 p.m. on November 26). Prayer. At 4 p.m. on November 26 participants will spiritually unite in common prayer. Good Works. Each participant should do a good deed, help a neighbor who needs it. It can be a charity, a donation to an orphanage, and so on. All wishing to participate in the campaign please send an e-mail to soprychastya@cym.org.
