Days of Spiritual Renewal for UGCC Priests Held in Madrid

On 5 November, in Madrid, regular general assembly and days of spiritual renewal for priests of UGCC in Spain began under the leadership of Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Italy and Spain, Bishop Dionisii (Liakhovych). The assembly is held in the retreat Center of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin, reported the Press-service of UGCC in Italy.

The main themes of the spiritual retreat is the new evangelization, life by the Holy Sacraments and role of lay people in the work of evangelization.

“The new evangelization is oriented especially to people who distanced themselves from the Church and do not practice the Christian life even though they were baptized in order to help them meet with the Lord again. Today, it is very important to remember that, according to the teaching of the 2nd Vatican Council, the Lord wishes to extend his kingdom through lay people, the Kingdom of truth and life, holiness and grace, justice, love and peace,” said the hierarch.
