The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in cooperation with the State Department of Ukraine for the Enforcement of Sentences will conduct a pilgrimage for the workers of the penitentiary system of Ukraine to the Saint Dormition Monastery of Univ (Lviv region). “Justice, Faith, Mercy!” is the name of the annual pilgrimage. This year it will take place on the holiday of Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 26-27. With the benediction of Bishop Mikhail (Koltun), Bishop of Sokal-Zhovkiva, head of Department of the Patriarchal Curia of the UGCC on Matters of Military Forces of Ukraine, the pilgrims will set off for the third of such pilgrimages. “The joint pilgrimage, being side by side, and joint prayer transforms the prison from the place of serving ones sentence for a crime to a truly correctional, educational, that is, penitentiary institution,” said the organizers of the pilgrimage.
