Episcopal consecration of Father Mykola Bychok will be held in Lviv

The episcopal ordination of Father Mykola Bychok (C.Ss.R) as the ruling bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul in Melbourne (Australia) will take place on April 26, 2020 at St. Yura Cathedral in Lviv. The Divine Liturgy begins at 11.00.

The Liturgy will be headed by the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the main consecrator. Co-consecrators are Bishop Ihor Vozniak, Metropolitan of Lviv, and Petro Stasiuk, Bishop of the Eparchy of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Melbourne.

The Rite of Episcopal Nomination will take place on April 25, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the Church of St. Holy Martyr Josaphat (134a Zamarstynivska St., Lviv).

As we informed, on January 15, 2020, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had appointed Rev. Fr. Mykola Bychok as the ruling bishop of the Eparchy of Saints Peter and Paul in Melbourne; at present he is a parish associate at the Parish of St. John the Baptist in Newark, US. At the same time, it was reported that the Holy Father had accepted the abdication of the pastoral position, delivered by Petro Stasiuk, the bishop of this Eparchy to this day.
