Eugene Sverstyuk has recorded foreword for third audiobook of His Beatitude Lubomyr
Wednesday, 19 January 2011, 16:03 Famous publicist and dissident Eugene Sverstyuk has recorded the foreword to “The Path to God,” the third audiobook of the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Lubomyr, thus finalizing its release. "His Beatitude Lubomyr was asked, so to say, secular questions, and he responds to them so calmly, as if he had asked them himself," said this year's winner of the prize of Blessed Omelyan Kovch in the foreword.
Famous publicist and dissident Eugene Sverstyuk has recorded the foreword to “The Path to God,” the third audiobook of the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Lubomyr, thus finalizing its release.
"His Beatitude Lubomyr was asked, so to say, secular questions, and he responds to them so calmly, as if he had asked them himself," said this year's winner of the prize of Blessed Omelyan Kovch in the foreword.
According to Eugene Sverstyuk, the answers to these questions are important and interesting because the head of the UGCC thinks about them constantly and has thorough answers to them, in accordance with the Holy Scripture and in accord with his own life. "But what is most important is that the answers are not prepared in advance. We hear them and become partners in solving of problems facing all of us," said the editor of the newspaper Nasha Vira (Our Faith).
"A person of faith is forced to answer questions of the mind all his life," says Eugene Sverstyuk. When asked why people who live in a world where there are so many books, so many religions, and so many options, choose Christ, Sverstyuk said: "In response to this question we hear not dogmatic or psychological reason but reason that is completely unexpected and heartfelt: faith is given to us as a grace of God, as a great gift. So try to appreciate that gift and then it will be easier with other issues."
In the opinion of Sverstyuk, the patriarch in his audiobook "The Path to God" leans toward the simplest and most natural – to the sacrifice of Abel, who happily brings God the best of what he has.
The conclusion to the audio trilogy, "The Three Paths,” will be released on January 22. It will be presented that day at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv.
The audiobook "The Path to God," like the patriarch’s previous books, is recorded as an interview. The distinguished journalist Kateryna Shchotkina, an editor of the weekly Dzerkalo Tyzhnya, conducted the interview. The audio book will be released in two CDs.
We remind that the first audiobook of the head of UGCC, "The Path to Oneself," appeared in January 2009. The edition constituted ten thousand copies. The hierarch presented his second book, "The Path to Thy Neighbor," in April 2010. The first and second audiobooks of His Beatitude Lubomyr (and after January 22, the third one) are available in various UCGG churches throughout Ukraine. The book can also be ordered from Nash Format (Our Format) at nashformat.ua or at the Nash Format stores in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv.
