“Farewell to Christmas Carols” for refugees from Donbas held in Lviv

February 10, 2019 at the Retreat Center of the Redemptorist Fathers in Lviv there was a "Farewell to Christmas Carols" event for families from Donbas. This spiritual and cultural event was organized by Sr. Yeronima Vovchak, SSMM.

 

The Exarch of Donetsk bishop Stepan Meniok together with over 30 forced migrant persons took part in it.

The meeting started with a joint Divine Liturgy in St Josaphat Church, led by bishop Stepan. The celebration continued with a feast and concert of carols in the Retreat Center of the Redemptorist Fathers. 

A Quintet from the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul with their professional performance performed a glorification of the Newborn Savior, which continued with participants’ singing carols and citing poems prepared in advance by families.

Sr. Yeronima Vovchak, SSMM, shared her impression of the participants, saying that the casual family atmosphere brought a lot of joy, peace and hope into every heart.

The event finished with a joint reading of Scriptures and a prayer.
