Everyone in the world today must choose which side they are on - good or evil: UGCC Head on Day 33 of the War

Everyone who feels that human life is sacred and respects God's commandment "Thou shalt not kill" must take the side of Ukraine today, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, said in his daily address on the 33rd day of Russia’s devastating war against Ukraine.

According to the Primate, everyone who sees the suffering and torment of Ukraine, is facing a choice. Today, Ukraine is a symbol, a sign, a challenge to every inhabitant of the globe, to choose which side they are on.

“Today, everyone who respects God's commandment ‘Thou shalt not steal,’ and sees the Russian occupiers looting, robbing ordinary people, taking away their last possessions, and dooming them to starvation, must side with Ukraine. Everyone who respects God's commandment ‘Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife’ and sees the occupier humiliating and raping the women of Ukraine in front of their children, cannot remain neutral and must side with Ukraine,” the Head of the Church underscored.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav repeated his appeal to all heads of state in whose hands lies the fate of modern humanity -- to politicians, parliamentarians, religious figures, leaders of public opinion and to all people of good will -- "Make your choice! Take the side of the innocent victim of unjust aggression, not the side of the one who has conceived of imposing dictatorship on Ukraine and the world, and is threatening the Third World War!” he appealed.

We can stop the war together, says the Head of the Church, but standing before the cross of the Lord, each of us must make their own choice.

“Let us make our choice in favor of life, in favor of God's blessing, in favor of the human person who can and wants to live in dignity and truth,” stated the spiritual leader.
