Head of the UGCC met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and discussed a moment of recognition of metropolitan Sheptytsky as Righteous Among the Nations

First of all the Head of the Church thanked Dmytro Kuleba for being present at Fr. Omelian Kovch Statue unveiling ceremony in Lublin.

The Major Archbishop warded the minister with a Patriarchal Certificate and added that his presence witnesses that public initiative to erect a monument was held with active support of Ukrainian State and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in particular.

The sides also discussed further steps taken by the Church, society and Ukrainian State in terms of honoring Fr. Omelian Kovch and righteous metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky.

They agreed to coordinate their efforts in moving toward the process of recognition both Andrey Sheptytsky and Omelian Kovch the righteous among nations, joining Ukrainian, Polish and Jewish communities in here, thus, to demonstrate a heroic deed of these two holy men of Ukraine on the international level.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav and Dmytro Kuleba were discussing fostering relationships between Ukraine and the Holy See and agreed on a probable visitation of His Holiness Pope Francis to Ukraine.
