Head of the UGCC visited leaders of “Marriage Meetings” movement in Yaremcha

His Beatitude Sviatoslav testified to the leaders of community his support, understanding and contribution. According to the archbishop, many years ago when Church was forbidden and remained in the underground activity, family cared for the Church. In turn, Church’s mission is to protect and support a family. The topic His Beatitude Sviatoslav discussed with the participants was about value of marriage with challenges it encounters today and world secularization. Analyzing the situation in society, Church feels a great need to explain to each and everybody the unchangeable and always new truth about the value of matrimony in God’s eyes. “Marriage Meetings” movement not only cares about and contributes to the improvement of relationship between a husband and a wife but also helps in evangelization of a family. A parish, where appear couples of already passed marriage retreats, start to relive and obtain active participants who, with their own example, encourage other families to spirituality.

At the meeting are present founders of the movement Irena and Jerzy Grzibovski (couple from Poland), today’s leaders of the movement Uldis and Dayna Zhurylo (couple from Latvia), administration members, movement national leaders from 8 countries (Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine), and also delegates from different centers of the Movement together with spiritual fathers of the Movement.

An intensive program of the international conference “Marriage Meetings” consists of workshops, discussions, presentations as well as cultural program and recreation for children. So, on August 2 the participants of the conference went up Makovytsia Mountain (945m) where nearby a cross bishop Dmytro Grygorak together with three UGCC priests from Ukraine and Russia and two priests of RCC from Belarus and Latvia celebrated Hierarchial Divine Liturgy.

“Marriage Meetings” it is an international catholic community with an intention to extend and improve a mutual understanding between a husband and wife, caring for family unity and endurance due to the teaching of Universal Church. An activity of “Marriage Meetings” movement forwards to the fulfilment of Christian life and perfect love, realization of each person’s vocation of holiness through the Sacrament of Matrimony.

It is worth mentioning that international conference of movement leaders is held for the first time in Ukraine and will long till August 7.
