His Beatitude Sviatoslav called for peace and reconciliation during a plenary Assembly of Council of European Episcopal Conference

As we have already informed the Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav had a speech on 12th of September, 2015 during a regular annual plenary Assembly of Council of European Episcopal Conference that is being held from 11th till 16th of September in a Holy Land at the invitation of Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav informed about pastoral circumstances of Church servicing in Ukraine, signified sufferings of Ukrainian people, millions of victims and the press, remaining silent.

Besides, the Head of the UGCC thanked Churches of Europe, charitable foundation “Caritas” for their help, simultaneously calling for increasing awareness of a conflict and sufferings that Ukrainian people are going through.

On Sunday, His Beatitude Sviatoslav appealed to people in English, Italian, Spanish and Ukrainian languages, speaking about peace and reconciliation. This speech was taped by a correspondent Radio Vatican, Fabricio Mastrofini.

This year, in the Assembly of Council of European Episcopal Conference are participating His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC, Archbishop Petro Maljchuk, the ordinary of Kyiv-Zhytomyr RCC and bishop Milan Shashik, eparch of Mukachevo.
