His Beatitude Sviatoslav met with representatives of Community of Sant’Egidio in Italy

On 4th of July, at Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC met with Community of Sant’Egidio from Genova (Italy), who arrived in Ukraine for a pilgrimage. Pilgrims (65 persons in alt) are led by Bishop Matteo Zuppi, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav greeted all the pilgrims, signifying, “it was a honour for him to greet such a deserving guests”. Hence, the Head of the UGCC thanked bishop Matteo for their concern over Ukrainians in Rome and his frequent visits of a Ukrainian parish of the St. Sergius and Bacchus in Rome.

After words, said by the Head of the UGCC, the representatives of community of Sant’Egidio assured, they are with Ukrainians, they are praying for peace in Ukraine and doing everything for peace comes into Ukraine.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav retailed guests a history of UGCC, ancient and modern, too, about a Patriarchal Cathedral and its role in Revolution of dignity.

At the end, The Head of the Church together with community of Sant’Egidio prayed for peace in Ukraine.
