On May 13, 2019, the Father and Head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, visited the headquarters of the "Knights of Columbus" in New Haven, their main residence in the United States. In addition, the Primate headed the Divine Liturgy.

"I sincerely thank ‘the Knights of Columbus’ for their full support," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

In his sermon, the Head of the UGCC spoke about the importance and strength of Christ's Resurrection, especially in the period when some countries, like Ukraine, are in a state of war.

"The Lord is the source of life. He frees us, makes sense to our lives and believes in us," said the spiritual leader of the Greek Catholics.

At the end of the sermon, he shared "good news from Ukraine, in particular about the development of the ‘Knights of Columbus’ community in the country."

It is worth noting that after the worship, a meeting was held with the Supreme Knight, Carl Albert  Anderson, whom His Beatitude Sviatoslav gave the Holy Antimins  as a sign of gratitude, which was consecrated this Thursday in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv. It contains a relic of the holy martyr Mykolay Charnetsky.

In addition, a number of issues on further cooperation and development of this organization in Ukraine were discussed during the meeting.

"Today it was a special pleasure to celebrate the Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude Sviatoslav in the Chapel of the Knights of Columbus Headquarters in New Haven. This Liturgy, as a national chaplain, I sacrificed for the development of the Knights of Columbus in Ukraine and the newly elected members of the National Council under the leadership of Bohdan Kovaliv. For five years of existence, the Ukrainian knights have grown from several dozen to more than 1300 brothers throughout Ukraine, united in 29 councils, " said Fr. Volodymyr Malchyn, Head of the Department of Development of the UGCC, who, together with Fr. Andriy Maksymovych, administrator of the Patriarchal Curia, accompanied the Head of Church during his visit to the United States.
