On the day of celebrations of St. Volodymyr’s Baptism, which were held in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, His Beatitude Sviatoslav celebrated a Divine Liturgy along with the UGCC priests serving abroad. “Today, first of all, I would like to greet present here priests serving for the Ukrainians who find themselves far away from Ukraine – from Siberia to Portugal. These are the priests who have left Ukraine in order to find a lost sheep and thus to serve Ukrainians who are far away from their Homeland” – said during his sermon the UGCC Primate.

After these words, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his gratitude to all those serving in the Pastoral and Missionary Department for their active involvement in the field of pastoral care for migrants. In the words of the Head of the UGCC, many Ukrainians abroad lack all sorts of care except for the one provided by the Church. The UGCC Primate expressed his hopes that the collaboration between the missionaries and the Pastoral and Missionary Department will promote the development of the UGCC church structures abroad. “I would like to tell you that we are interested very much in building up the structures where they are absent now. You are the milestone of this process” – said His Beatitude Sviatoslav. The Head of the UGCC also added that starting from next year, he is planning to visit with pastoral visit Spain, Portugal and other countries where are Ukrainian people. “See you at your home” – said at the end of his meeting the UGCC Primate.
