God is the source of life, victory and success. Only where God is - welfare dominates. He is the one that gives the bread in the desert, living among death, hope amid despair. This was stressed during a homily at a Pontifical Divine Liturgy by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC, on August 3, 2014, in the village of Krylos (Ancient Galych), in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

We have to recall that on August 2, 2014 was began all patriarchal pilgrimage to the Galician miraculous icon of Our Lady in the village of Krylos (Ancient Galych) for peace in Ukraine. In his homily, the Head of the UGCC urged to pray for peace and unity of Ukraine, "standing before miraculous Krylos Mother of God, pleading for the life of our brothers and sisters in the East of Ukraine, for the blood is not shed in the country, our boys are not killed,  our wives and mothers do not cry and our children are not orphans, our cities and villages are not emptied".

As the Head of the Church noted – God’s Ukrainian people are traveling from slavery to freedom: "In this journey we embarked more than 20 years ago, and may still exist many difficulties before us. But the Lord is among us. He is the one who gives life, and his presence - the key to our invincibility, our strength and hope".

During the Liturgy was held the ordination of Josaphat (Moshchych), Auxiliary bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk archdiocese of UGCC. In this regard, the Head of the Church said that a historic event took place - "a time when the Lord revealed the internal sacramental life of the Church". According to Him, the same day the bishops came together at the feet of the Virgin Mary, who is personified in the image of Krylos Virgin Mary, and over Bishop Josaphat’s head was deployed Holy Gospel, written by the Holy Spirit. "Today Bishop Joshaphat put his life on God's throne and through his ministry the Lord will vivify and feed His Church. For the task of the bishop is to teach and preach the Gospel, to sanctify the people of the Sacraments of the Church and to direct people to God. Let the Holy Spirit sanctifies your people and your word is the word of the Good News, through which the Lord wants to comfort the hearts of His people",- said His Beatitude Sviatoslav, referring to the newly ordained bishop.

At the end the Archbishop of the UGCC wished Ancient Halych to become the special home for the new bishop. After all, history does not remember the last time the consecration happened. "But today it happened. This is a great sign of rebirth, hope and strength. So be the sign for your people!"- wished in conclusion His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
