The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav during a meeting with the religious asked to pray for the beatification of Metropolitan Andrey, servant of God, "because we have a good chance in the new year to hope for his beatification".

"It would be a tremendous spiritual victory" - said the Head of the Church.

He noted that the year, in which we enter, the Holy Father called the Year of consecrated persons. "In our Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church this year coincides with the Year of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi. I think in our Church one cannot find the person so consecrated to God, that did so much for the religious revival as Metropolitan Andrey. Therefore, experiencing this year, we ask Metropolitan to lead us"- said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

The Preacher also mentioned, that when our fathers were summoned to the Crimea, they were asked, how they felt about Metropolitan Sheptytskyi.

"The metropolitan is like a special sign, the spiritual giant of St. George’s Hill, as he was called when alive. And there is nothing unexpected that Metropolitan Andrey is our leader for the time", - stressed the Head of the Church.
