At the invitation of the German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ukraine representatives of different confessions of Poland, Germany, Belarus and Ukraine discussed modern social problems and conducted a meeting on organizational preparation for the international ecumenical conference which is planned for September 23-25 in Odesa. It was decided that the theme of the coming conference will be «Churches in Ukraine during the crisis.» An important fact is that the conference will take place with the blessing of heads of the traditional Churches in Ukraine and with the participation of the state authorities, local and national. The key speakers will be representatives from other countries and local experts. From the UGCC, with the blessing of His Beatitude Lubomyr, participating in the work of the ecumenical group was Ihor Shaban, head of the Commission of the UGCC for Promoting Christian Unity.  The international ecumenical working group Reconciliation has existed now for more than 10 years. A few times a year the representatives of this group (delegates of Churches) meet for a discussion of modern ecumenical matters. The primary objective of the group is to spread reconciliation among the nations and the Churches.
