Meeting of the organizing committee of the Kyiv Archeparchy on the theme of evangelization

On December 9, 2008, in Kyiv, with Reverend Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), auxiliary bishop of the Kyiv Archeparchy, as chair, a meeting of the organizing committee of the Council of the Kyiv Archeparchy took place on the theme of evangelization. A council will be conducted with the slogan: "To accept Christ, to live by Christ, to witness Christ."
On December 9, 2008, in Kyiv, with Reverend Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), auxiliary bishop of the Kyiv Archeparchy, as chair, a meeting of the organizing committee of the Council of the Kyiv Archeparchy took place on the theme of evangelization. A council will be conducted with the slogan: "To accept Christ, to live by Christ, to witness Christ." Opening the meeting, Bishop Bohdan noted that the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC has decreed that every eparchy conduct for itself a council on the theme of evangelization. Consequently the Bishop summarized the previous meeting about the Council on Evangelization and defined the task of the Council, which consists in working out a strategy of evangelization in the archeparchy for one year and working out suggestions of strategy to develop evangelization for the whole Church for 5 to 10 years and presentations of them to the Commission on Evangelization of the UGCC. Members of the organizing committee: Reverend Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), Fr. Vasyl Vil'chyk, steward of the Kyiv Archeparchy, Fr. Mikhail Budnik, head of the Commission on Evangelization, Fr. Petro Zhuk, head of the Catechetical Commission, Fr. Oleh Panchynyak, press-service, Mr. Bohdan Senchuk, Commission on the Family, Mrs. Olena Hancyak-Kas’kiv, head of the Patriarchal Society of Saint Volodymyr the Great, Grand Prince of Kyiv and Equal  to the Apostles, and Sister Anastasiya Balinska. It was decided to conduct the council on February 13-14, 2009, in the Church of Saint Basil the Great in Kyiv. It is planned to invite about 80 delegates from various corners of the archeparchy. The organizing committee invites all interested to send suggestions in relation to the conduct and organization of the Council to the address of the office of the Kyiv Archeparchy.
