Metropolitan Volodymyr Viytyshyn consecrated a kindergarten in a former residence of Andrey Sheptytsky

On Sunday, October 25 a local community of Bratkivtsi village in Ivano – Frankivsk oblast celebrated a triple holiday of their parish, led by Volodymyr Viytyshyn, archbishop and metropolitan of Ivano – Frankivsk.

The archbishop together with priests and faithful prayed the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of fifteenth anniversary since the Church of St. Paraskeva has been consecrated.

After the Divine Liturgy, a cornerstone for a construction of a new parochial residence was consecrated on a parochial yard.

Last but not least became a consecration and opening of a kindergarten, which is located in restored and repaired premises of metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky’s residence. The building dates back to 1886, yet it is carefully preserved. Here, metropolitan Andrey wrote his famous epistle “To my loving Hutsuls”. Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn also consecrated a plaque stating “Here, Andrey Sheptytsky bishop of Stanislav (29.07.1865 - 01.11.1944) wrote his V pastoral epistle “To my loving Hutsuls” delivered in a local church on St. Michael Feast Day, November 21, 1900”.
