“Mothers in Prayer” from the eparchy of Stryj organized the IV eparchial convention in Kokhavyno, Lviv region

Close to a thousand mothers from all districts of the eparchy of Stryj gathered together for the IV convention at the Redemptionist Fathers monastery located in the village of Kokhavyno in the Zhydachiv district. On August 15, 2009, in the monastery’s church Protection of the Holy Mother of God, Bishop Taras (Sen'kiv) celebrated the Hierarchical Liturgy and called on all the mothers to educate children and youth in the spirit of evangelic values and to be an example for them. The first convention of the community “Mothers in Prayer” of the Stryj eparchy took place in Stryj in April 2006. The mothers met again in Zhydachiv on May 12, 2007 and then in Stryj, on August 16, 2008. Within the Stryj eparchy alone there are 101 active “Mothers in Prayer” communities. 46 of them are from the district of Stryj, while in the Zhydachiv district there are 28 and 16 in Mykolaiv. 9 communities operate in Peremyshlyany district and 2 in the district of Horodok.
