Our Church has grown before the eyes of the whole world, - Head of the UGCC in Ivano-Frankivsk

We begin to realize that ten years ago in Ukraine there was only one metropoly founded by its first metropolitans. That only metropoly under the leadership of Metropolitan Mykhailo Rohoza 425 years ago restored communion with the Holy See. And this only metropoly called KievGalician, gave birth to three new. His Beatitude Sviatoslav said that here, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Metropolitan Cathedral was established, which unites today three dioceses: Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese, Kolomyia and Chernivtsi diocese. The Head of the UGCC congratulated the first metropolitan in the history of Ivano-Frankivsk, who had the honor to be introduced to this throne ten years ago - Bishop Metropolitan Volodymyr Viytyshyn. “In the traits of his character, his meekness, one can see certain features of the apostle Andrew. Bishop never seeks fame or benefits.

It is not the way he wants to introduce himself to a modern man as with Christ, whom he found during the persecution of our Church” , the Head of the Church said. According to him, this archdiocese and metropoly was born through labor, witness, even the confession and martyrs and the holy ascetics of our Church. The Head of the Church thanked the bishops and all the clergy for convening the Metropolitan Synods.and asked everyone to feel responsibility for their metropoly.
