"Our daily bread" means Jesus Christ who gives Himself to us in the Sacrament of the Eucharist, His Beatitude Sviatoslav in the video catechesis

It is important to take Holy Communion every day, to seek it, to live by it. The Fathers of the Church said that when we consume this bread of ours, then a very interesting thing happens to us. We become the One we consume. This was said by His Beatitude Sviatoslav in the Saturday catechesis about the prayer "Our Father," in which he explained the meaning of the request for daily bread.

In the catechesis, the Head of the Church explained what kind of bread we are talking about in the phrase "Give us this day our daily bread," why we need it so much, and why we need it today.

According to him, the words "our bread", as well as "our Father", refer to something very deep in our relationship with God.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized and explained that the phrase "our daily bread," first of all, indicates the bread of heaven. It means Jesus Christ, who gives Himself to us for food in the form of bread and wine in the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

This heavenly bread, according to the Head of the UGCC, should be our daily bread. After all, without the consumption of this heavenly bread, there is no spiritual life by which man can overcome his death, his sins - there is no eternal life.

"That is why it is important to take Holy Communion every day, to seek it, to live by it," the Head of the Church is convinced. “By consuming His Body and Blood, we become one and whole with our Saviour. And in this way we can live our spiritual, Christian life,” added the Head of the Church and wished that none of us would lack this heavenly bread.
