Our works of love and charity are confession of Christian faith today, - Head of the UGCC on St. Nicholas Day

Saint Nicholas is our teacher of love. He is the teacher of how to get rich in eternity departing from this earthly life with a heart full of God’s love – a seed of eternity that the Lord wants to put into our hearts, said His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head and Father of the UGGC during his homily on St. Nicholas Day.

On this day, the Head of the Church led the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the parish of St.

“Saint Nicholas is known today precisely because of his ability to rich toward God during his eartly life and teach it all around him. He entered the history of spiritual treasury of Christ’s Church because he did nothing for himself. He rejoiced in joy of others, wept their grief.His heart was sensitive to the needs of everyone and he knew how to do things concerning eternal values”, the spiritual leader said.

As a result of the actions of St. Nicholas, young children today feel the presence of St. Nicholas through the hands of their loving parents who teach them how to do good so that your right hand does not know what the left one is doing. Because that is how we will have a reward in heaven.

The Head of the Church recalled the words of the Apostle John, who said that if someone says that he loves God and does not love his neighbor, then he is a liar. For one cannot love God without loving one's neighbor.
