On December 5 in Ternopil’ the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and Ukrainian Chamber of Notaries conducted a seminar-practice for notaries. The activity took place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Association of Private Notaries of the Ternopil’ Region. On December 6 the Commission on Matters of the Laity of the Ternopil' and Zboriv Eparchy organized for the participants of the seminar a pilgrimage to the Marian spiritual center in Zarvanytsya. Father Zenoviy Pakholok acquainted the guests with the history of the pilgrimage site. Veneration of the miraculous icon took place in the parish church, and Fr. Volodymyr Toporovskyj, Ph. D., blessed all with relics of the first Christian martyrs. Then the participants visited the village of Zazdrist’, where Sister Modesta, OSBM, conducted an excursion on the farmstead of Patriarch Josyf (Slipyj). Thirty persons took part in the prayerful pilgrimage, among them: the director of the Department of Notaries and Registration of Lawyers’ Associations of the Ministry of Justice, Nina Victorivna Yashchenko; the president of the Ukrainian Chamber of Notaries, Lyudmyla Mykolaivna Pavlova; and notaries from Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Radekhiv and other cities of Ukraine. It is worth noting that such events – professional pilgrimages – were presented at this year’s convention of the laity in Kyiv. They are a new model for work with the laity which the Commission on Matters of the Laity in the Ternopil' and Zboriv Eparchy began.
