The members were individually appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. The list consists of 16 people – cardinals, archbishops, bishops, and priests. Among them are the head of the UGCC, Patriarch Lubomyr, and Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), the secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC.  We remind that the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, Archbishop Mykola Eterovych, was the Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine in 1999-2004.
