Reception marking the 19th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine held in the Vatican

On September 8 a celebratory reception was held to mark the 19th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine of the Holy See. Representatives of authorities of the Vatican and different Vatican institutions, the Maltese order, and ambassadors and diplomatic body accredited by the Vatican took part in the reception.

Representatives of authorities of the Vatican and different Vatican institutions, the Maltese order, and ambassadors and diplomatic body accredited by the Vatican took part in the reception. In the celebration took part, in particular, the pastoral coordinator for Ukrainians in Italy Fr. Oleksandr Sapunko who passed a greeting to the Ambassador of Ukraine of the Holy See Mrs. Tetyana Izhevska from Bishop Dionisiy (Lyakhovych), the apostolic visitor for Ukrainians Greek Catholic in Italy and Spain, who at that time was at the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC.  In meeting also took part representatives of Ukrainian religious societies of different denominations and monastics, representatives of the international airlines of Ukraine and Italian citizens. During the reception, the guests had the chance to visit the photo exhibitions “Picturesque Ukraine” and “The Image of Women in Orthodoxy.”
