Representatives of the Charity Fund “Karitas” held the 4th pedestrian pilgrimage for the disabled people

The 4th pedestrian pilgrimage for the disabled people, for members of their families, as well as, for all those who are not indifferent, to the wonderworking icon of the mother of God in Sambir, took place from the 1st till the 2nd of June 2012. This pilgrimage was organized by the representatives of the Charity Fund “Karitas of Sambir-Drohobytsk Episcopacy of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church” in collaboration with the voluntary community from Drohobytsk, named “Nadiya”, on protection of disabled children, for the common glorification of God in prayers, and in doing that to attract citizens’ attention to the issue of people’s disability, as well as to contribute towards the tolerant attitude to them. It was reported by Nataliya Atsyk, who is the public relations manager of Charity Fund “Karitas of Sambir-Drohobytsk Episcopacy of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.”

Around 70 pilgrims, including disabled children and youth, their parents and relatives, workers of ”Karitas” and “Nadiya”, volunteers, rehabilitators of “Nazaret” center took part in the pilgrimage. During this pilgrimage the members had the possibility to confess, to say a common prayer in their intentions, to listen to the science of father Ihor Kozankevych and to sing religious songs. During the first day, the pilgrims mastered their way to the village Luzhok and said their prayers in the local church. On Saturday evening, members of the pilgrimage came to the temple of the Holy Mother’s Birth in Sambir and to give honour to the wonderworking icon of the mother of God, thanking for the inspiration, endurance and all the grace that God is sending to people Informational Department of UGCC
