Representatives of UGCC visit the city of Berdyans’k

Recently, Bishop Stephan (Meniok), Exarch of Donets’k-Kharkiv, Father Serhiy Kovbel', pastor of the church of Holy-Martyr Josaphat, celibate priest of the Order of the Holy Redeemer, Father Mykhail Zaverchuk, all visited the city of Berdyans’k in the Zaporizhzhya region. There, the delegates met with the Berdyans’k city mayor. The mayor expressed a favorable attitude towards a selected lot of land designated for the construction of a UGCC church and monastery. Presently, the faithful UGCC community members of Berdyans’k pray in a chapel-house.

Presently, the faithful UGCC community members of Berdyans’k pray in a chapel-house. While in Berdyans’k, the delegation also came across a journalistic action against corruption. Bishop Stephan gave an interview for a local newspaper, in which he described the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church and explained that overcoming corruption as well as the other sins of government is only possible through education in God’s laws.
