Residents of Kyiv will take part in a jubilee pilgrimage to Zazdrist’ and Zarvanytsya

Through the initiative of the Christian community of the Greek-Catholic church Nicolas the Miracle Worker on Askol'd’s Grave and support of other Christian communities of the UGCC, the 5th annual All Ukrainian Pilgrimage is scheduled to take place on the first Saturday of the week after September 7 (the day of departure in to eternity of Patriarch Joseph (Slipyj)). The destination will be the village of Zazdrist,’ where the patriarch was born, and Maria’s Spiritual Center in Zarvanytsya, Terebovlya region.

The destination will be the village of Zazdrist,’ where the patriarch was born, and Maria’s Spiritual Center in Zarvanytsya, Terebovlya region. “In 2004, at the church of Saint Nicolas, with the support of the Ternopil'-Zboriv eparchy and UGCC Christian community in Zazdrist’ and Zarvanytsya, a Holy road was created to worship the glory of the Lord and to help save Ukraine,” explained the organizer of the pilgrimage from Kyiv, member of the Patriarchal Community of Saint Kyivan Prince Volodymyr the Great, faithful of the church Nicolas the Miracle Worker on Askol'd’s Grave, Bohdan Ternopil'sky.  “During the pilgrimage on this Holy road that spans 28km, prayers will be read at every rest station including appropriate parts of the testament of Patriarch Joseph as well as prayers of the Holy road.” This year’s pilgrimage is especially jubilant because September 7 marks the 25th anniversary of the moment that Patriarch Joseph (Slipyj), hierarch of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, entered into eternity. Information for pilgrims:  Pilgrims leave Kyiv on September 11 at 10:00pm by train 143 Kyiv - Ivano-Frankivs’k.
