Secretary of State of the Holy See expressed his support for Ukrainian people

On Monday, February 14, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See called His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head and Father of the UGCC to express support of the Holy See for the Catholic Church in Ukraine and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav informed Cardinal Parolin about the service of the UGCC in the face of the current threat of a full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine and thanked the Holy See for its constant attention to the situation.

“Ukrainian people feel the Holy Father's special concern for peace in Ukraine and appreciate the diplomatic efforts of the Holy See to combat the current international crisis”, mentioned His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

“In these tumultuous times I would like to express to you, Your Beatitude, the episcopate, the clergy and the faithful of the Church you lead, and to all the Ukrainian people the words of support of the Holy See, our solidarity and assurance of prayer for all of you”, Cardinal Pietro Parolin said during their conversation.
