The closing ceremony of the V session of the UGCC Patriarchal Sobor.

On September 4, 2011, the closing ceremony of the V session of the UGCC Patriarchal Sobor was held. The Head of the UGCC presided at a Divine Liturgy joined by 32 Bishops of the UGCC, numerous clergy, religious people and a large number of the faithful from Prudentopolis and suburban areas.   At the end of the Liturgy, a decree of the Head of the UGCC was read out which signified the official opening of the Synod of the Bishops of the UGCC. His Beatitude Sviatoslav presented Letters of Gratitude to all those who made a great contribution to the preparation of the Patriarchal Sobor.   In his homily, His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized the common vocation to sanctity of all Christians and the particularity of vocation to religious life encouraging many young people not to be afraid to respond to God’s calling.
