The Commission of the UGCC on Matters of Immigrants began a series of workshops dedicated to the preservation of a family during migration

On the 2nd of March, at Lviv Church of Saint Martyr Josaphat, at the initiative of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of Immigrants in conjunction with the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) in Lviv and with the counseling center for the family support "Yedyna Rodyna", a seminar on "How to keep the family if you decided to go abroad for work" took place. The Saturday seminar was the first among a series of similar events, which are planned for this year.

The Saturday seminar was the first among a series of similar events, which are planned for this year.

This event was conducted by Maksym Bondarenko, who is the manager of the projects of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of Immigrants, expert and counselor over the issues regarding families. The target audience for such workshops is youth, families, clergy and lay leaders.

During this event, there were considered different forms of keeping a close relationship on distance and were also discussed the potential difficulties with which the modern transnational family may be faced.

The following meetings, during which there will be discussed the opportunities and resources for family preservation in case of migration of any of its members, will take place in Novoyavorivs’k, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Kovel, Chernigiv, from April to November 2013.
