The Council of Churches and Ministry of Health of Ukraine will collaborate in order to prevent a new wave of COVID-19

Heads and representatives of confessions discussed efforts of the state makes in order to prevent the infection of COVID-19 from spreading in Ukraine and reached an agreement for further development and collaboration with MOH of Ukraine.

This question was raised by All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations at a session on the 14th of July 2021 which was held in Kyiv and led by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC.

During the meeting Iryna Mykychak, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine would request the heads of confessions to spread through religious communities information about an opportunity to get vaccinated, especially among villagers, as effective means to suppress an infection and preserve   lives of our fellow citizens.

She also initiated to create centers of vaccination at church communities which will be supplied with all necessary equipment needed for injections.

AUCCRO also agreed on ensuring cooperation the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine which in collaboration with the U.S. Government is launching a project of international technical assistance to ensure better monitoring, epidemiological surveillance, reaction on disease outbreaks and its prevention.

The first event held on this matter is a two-day seminar which is going to take place in Kyiv in the middle of July.
