It was reported by Svitlana Odynets from the Commission of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), on behalf of which this event will be held. The ethnic festival will include the activity for the whole family “The Cossacks’ Guard”. The program plans to include the two-day reproduction of the Cossacks’ way of life of the 17th century. And more specifically, it will be possible to taste the Cossacks thick soup (kulesh), to see the battle hopak, to participate in a fair of crafts and horse riding as well as participate in Cossacks’ fun for children. The main objective of holding this festival is to bring Ukrainians, who live both, within the territory of their home country and outside of it, together; as well as, to demolish the imaginary and real borders among the people. “The way towards the other person, even to the most native ones, is very hard most of the time, and not only in the physical sense, when borders or visas disturb us.  Most often it is difficult for us to meet the person with the word or with the view, so as to live through the proximity and affinity by only saying him or her: “it is good that you are beside me, only because we are not ready for it. This is why, during the Sunday Liturgy, that will precede the festival, we will pray for our openness towards the other person, with whom we are linked by the blood, land or common spiritual necessity. Pray so that we can meet, despite the long distance between us”, - emphasized Maksym Bondarenko, who is the head of the projects and programs of UGCC concerning migrants. Migration portal “Navigator” and Lviv television are both official informational sponsors for the festival.
