The Head of the UGCC appointed Tetiana Stavnycha a new president of ICF Caritas Ukraine

In the decree the Head of the Church reminded a mission Caritas was created for: “With good deeds concerning our neighbors we expose the face of a merciful God in this world, so often marked with human suffering, loneliness, fear and loss of hope. For this reason a charitable organization “Caritas” was established. For many years of its activity this institution has become a tool of God’s mercy, carrying out a mission of Church to provide with help those who suffer and stay in need”.

A designation decree Tetiana Stavnycha was awarded with was handed by Fr. Lubomyr Yavorskiy, patriarchal economist of the UGCC. On his Facebook page he said how pleased he was to introduce Ms. Tetiana to the national office and regional directors of Caritas Ukraine and thank the long-term president of Caritas Mr. Andriy Vaskovych.

In a comment to the UGCC Department for Information Ms. Tetiana said that first of all she intends to become familiar with a situation in Ukraine, with Caritas itself in particular, mainly people who do this honorable job of helping people in need. It is an organization which responded to the challenge of war, overcoming a humanitarian crisis.

“I greatly appreciate this invitation to chair Caritas, thus being able to join the mission of Church – serve people in need”, summarized Tetiana Stavnycha.
