The Head of the UGCC discussed with Petro Poroshenko the results of Cardinal Secretary of State visiting Ukraine

The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav on the 22nd of June met with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The meeting was held at the request of the head of the state. Bishop Borys Gudziak, the head of the Department of the External Church Relations also participated in it.

The main topic of the meeting concerned the results of cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of Vatican visiting Ukraine on 15th-20th of June on occasion of a humanitarian action of Pope Francis “Pope to Ukraine”. In light of this issues both sides also discussed further perspectives of the cooperation between Apostolic state and Ukraine.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav explained the head of the state in more details about the humanitarian action “Pope to Ukraine”. He pointed out that the addressees of this assistance are: forced migrants, Ukrainian citizens in a “grey zone”, citizens of z

The Head of the Church also informed the head of the state about creating socially pastoral missions in the “grey zones” on West Ukraine to help victims of war.
