His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC, expressed his condolences to Reverend Sisters of Holy Resurrection Monastery of St. Joseph in Saskatoon (Canada) on the death of Sister Theodosia.

In the letter of condolences it is particularly stated: "Today we received the sad news that passed away of blissful memory sister Teodozia from the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Saskatoon.

The passed nun is one of the most prominent figures of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada, because first of all she took care of the revival of religious life in the country. In 2012 I had the opportunity to visit the monastery and sanctify the newly erected church, which was created thanks to the tireless work of sister Theodosia. She was actively engaged in social service. She is known, perhaps, in all of Canada that she has established and thus has been developing for many years the home for elderly people in Saskatoon, which could serve to many people, even those who were lacked in social care in this country.

The late Teodoziya also worked with the laity. She was the spiritual leader of the League of Ukrainian Catholic Women of Canada, provided a special tone and spirit for this female community. In addition, due to the ideological inspiration of sister Theodosia this Catholic League began to exist in our Church in Ukraine, in particular in Kyiv and Kyiv archdiocese.

At the same time your sister was one of the founders and the largest benefactors of our Cathedral of the Resurrection in Kyiv. Thanks to the sacrificial work of Sister Theodosia and her community was built the marble altar in our Cathedral, which will be a spiritual monument to Sister Theodosia in the heart of our Church – the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

Today, as we say goodbye with sadness to the ascetic of monastic life - a life of service to the near and the Church, let’s pray to the Lord God to take her into His celestial home. Let’s pray for her example to serve for many consecrated people, laity and just good people, how to serve God and the Church. Sister Theodosia, eternal memory!"
