The Head of the UGCC expressed his condolences on the death of the priest Pavlo Zhuchenko in Donetsk region

The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his condolences on the tragic death of the priest Pavlo Zhuchenko in Druzhkivka in Donetsk region.

This is stated in a letter of condolences to the Bishop Onufriy (Berezovskyi), the Metropolitan of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Locum Tenens of the Kyiv Metropolitan Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. "Numerous bullets that caused the death of Christ cleric, wounded our hearts too and filled with new pain a cup of suffering that has been poured into our beloved homeland and our people, who with such great efforts and sacrifices struggle for their rights to dignity and free life in their own independent state"- was stated in the letter of the Primate of the Church. His beatitude Sviatoslav assured Locum Tenens of UOC about the Greek Catholics pray to Merciful God to accept the death as a burnt offering for a better destiny of our people and with the power of the risen Christ send in our land peace and deliverance from the darkness of sin, violence and aggression. "We first ask the Almighty to take his servant, deceased priest Pavlo into His Kingdom of Heaven, where all holy and righteous lie" – was said in the letter.
