During the pandemic, people learned to value each other, rediscovered the value of the family as a fruitful union of love between a man and a woman. Look where most Ukrainians have recovered from the coronavirus - in the family! This opinion was expressed by Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav in an interview with the newspaper "Poradnytsia" on January 14, 2021.

"Anyone who did not have this environment of family warmth felt in great danger. He needed help in various ways to overcome these circumstances," the Primate added.

According to the Head of the UGCC, the pandemic is an objective fact. We do not know why it arose, and even contemporary medical science does not fully understand all the behavioral characteristics of the coronavirus.

"But these are the circumstances that we must realize and learn to live in. Therefore, I am convinced that the pandemic is a warning that the Lord God gives us - not a punishment, but an opportunity to learn something. I think we learned a lot of lessons last year," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

People should realize, the Head of the Church believes, that we are all members of one great human family. After all, we are equally defenseless against this virus, regardless of whether we are rich or poor, what skin color we have, what language we speak, what church we go to. We all belong to the same human race. This is what unites us all.

"Pope Francis says that now people feel in the same boat amid the stormy sea. Even more, we feel that we will not survive alone. We will overcome this pandemic, but we will fight together. Such solidarity of all people is based on the fact that we have something in common, a certain foundation which we call human nature, and each of us is a partaker of it," he added.
